About Me

Design & Business

My obsession with design started when I was a 5-year-old weirdo.

I would go with my parents to the bank and quietly collect every single leaflet I could put my hands on - they amazed me! Specially the ones with forms. I could spend hours just reading, filling, and even coloring them.

Fast forwarding a little, there’s me going to University. I couldn’t decide between the business side of things and the creative one, so I ended up studying a bachelor in Tourism Management at the same time as another one in Graphic Design. It was hectic, but I love a good challenge!

My focus today is precisely in the intersection between business and design. Solving complex business issues, tackling growth challenges, and developing new business opportunities through creativity and design.

Further in my career I shifted from designing myself to empowering others to do so. Although I still like to keep myself hands-on, what I love the most is building teams, ensuring the team and the practice can scale, and focusing strongly on developing people and helping them grow.

During my journey, I have helped 100+ corporations all around the world with their B2B and B2C digital transformation projects. These corporations include many leading financial and insurance institutions, as well as government organizations, including the following:

Recently I've got involved with Design Education as a way to give back to the industry while helping other people grow and develop a career they love.

At the moment, I split my time between shaping creative education and its future as Head of Curriculum and Mentorship at Designlab and helping corporations worldwide with their design challenges via Toptal.

My Way of Working

1
Understand

A typically very undervalued step: getting familiar with the problem at hand, its market space, its current customers, potential ones and aspirations. To me, one of the most important parts of a project. Ideally, collaborating with the involved team to get the best information.

2
DEFINE

Once the problem is clear, the next step is defining what it is that will be done. A clear definition and strategy is essential for an outstanding execution. I like to also not underestimate this step. Without a clear direction and plan of action, the project won't succeed.

3
DELIVER

A recruitment plan? A design audit? Performance Management? An app or website? A brand? You name it! Any deliverables needed for the projects are executed and delivered in this third phase.

4
TEST

Testing with users and validating with stakeholders the deliverables is an essential step in order to improve the project and taking it to the next level.
